MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
To the vote - again!! On November 15th, we have a crucial opportunity to vote for green-minded people standing for election to local municipal councils. This is hugely important, since local communities are crucibles of change where new ideas can be put into action – but only if there is leadership, and urgency that transcends the “business as usual” approach.

These are the candidates I am urging people to vote for, based on my knowledge of their experience and commitment. My apologies to all other great green candidates whom I do not yet know. I hope you get elected!

 Victoria
For Mayor: Dean Fortin.
For council: Sonya Chandler, Philip Lucas, John Luton, Lynn Hunter, Chris Coleman, Pam Madoff, Tim van Alstine, & Charlayne Thornton-Joe.

I am pleased to endorse Tim Van Alstine for City Councillor. I have known Tim for many years and have always found him to be approachable, hard working and concerned about community. Tim is extremely knowledgeable about Victoria, its history and its people, and puts the interests of the people foremost in his actions to move forward with plans for livability and a sustainable future in our city.

Tim works as a team player and is open to discussing new ideas and is accepting of challenges. I believe that Tim will bring a reasoned approach to City Council deliberations and will make a fine contribution to the city as a councillor.

As a James Bay resident and small business operator, I am endorsing
Tim Van Alstine's candidacy for election to City Council. Tim has provided exemplary public service in many volunteer roles, including several years as President of the James Bay Neighbourhood Association. He is well versed on community issues, level-headed, and warm-hearted.

Tim will provide just the refreshing new voice that City Council desperately needs.

I am pleased to endorse Tim Van Alstine for City Councillor.  I have known Tim for 30 years.  For 17 years Tim has worked tirelessly for both the community of James Bay and the citizens of Victoria. Tim is currently the Chair of the James Bay Neighbourhood Association.  He also serves on the following City of Victoria committees: Transportation Advisory Committee and Belleville Terminal Task Force.  He has also served several terms on the Advisory Planning Commission. Tim would assuredly bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Victoria City Council. Tim’s continual involvement with civic matters provides him with an excellent working knowledge to be on Council.

Tim shares his time and knowledge generously.  He has been a great support to the residents of James Bay, as well as other Victoria neighbourhoods.

I am certain Tim’s commitment to the citizens of Victoria will continue if elected to Council.  The many years he has worked hard for his community and our city have well prepared him to be a great asset as a member of the City Council of Victoria. I highly recommend everyone to vote for Tim Van Alstine!
